CLO Marker at St. Philip AME Church

Note from William Ayers, CLO Historiographer

This is the Connectional Lay Connectional marker that is on the grounds of St. PHILIP AME CHURCH.  The marker sits on Richard Allen Way in Atlanta, Ga.  It will remain there until it is opened in 2065.  It contains historical documents (pictures, printed documents, programs, etc. It will provide the 2065 CLO officers with just a glimpse of what was happening to make this organization so impactful on the AME church.

While the information provides a small picture of this great Organization, it doesn’t reflect that we elected our first African President – Matikane Abednego Makiti, but it does carry his name because at that time he was our 2nd vice president.

Please share this valuable picture. When in Atlanta, visit the site.
